Trust Sweet Iron 2,5-Ring Bit, Jointed

This 2,5-ring bit by Trust is a milder version of the Pessoa bit and has a standard single-break mouthpiece which mainly exerts pressure on the interdental space and the sides of the tongue. The mouthpiece is anatomically shaped and has a special Sweet Iron alloy which oxidises on contact with moisture and forms surface rust. This rust tastes sweet to most horses, which makes the bit more accepted. In addition, saliva production and chewing activity are stimulated in a natural way. The 2,5-ring side piece offers different application possibilities, as the rider can decide individually how the bit should work. Depending on how the bit is attached, a milder or sharper effect is created. The deeper the rein is attached, the stronger the leverage effect. A 2,5-ring bit is often used on horses that become very strong in the course and go against the hand.

Note: When not in use, a thin, orange-brown layer of rust will develop on the mouthpiece. This can be removed with a damp cloth and does not represent a quality defect!
