• pelham with a double broken stainless steel mouthpiece
• the centerpiece is made of sweet copper
• this copper mixture is said to taste sweet to horses and thus stimulate chewing activity
• the increased chewing leads to a higher saliva production, which increases the well-being and permeability, this interaction enables a fine communication between the rider's hand and the horse's mouth
• pelhams can be used with 2 pairs of reins or with just 1 pair of reins in combination with pelham straps
• the use of a chin chain, with a suitable pad, distributes the pressure not only on the poll and the lower jaw, but also on the chin flap, thus utilizing all the pressure points of the horse's head
• however, as the leverage effect of pelhams should not be underestimated, these bits should only be used by experienced and sensitive riders
