Stübben Steeltec 3-Ring Waterford Bit Sweet Copper

• consists of several interconnected joints
• this bit has a very gentle effect, as the individual links allow for freedom of movement in all directions and distribute pressure evenly across the horse’s tongue, interdental space, and corners of the mouth
• the center joint, made of Sweet Copper, promotes active chewing and acceptance of the bit
• the 3-ring side pieces allow for a variety of rein attachment options for customized pressure distribution across the mouth and neck

Note: Any bit can cause pain if used roughly or improperly. An incorrect size can also be painful for the horse.

Care instructions

• rinse under running water after every ride
• dry with a towel

Size Guide

• a bit that already fits well can serve as a guide for the correct size
• alternatively, measure the mouth width: Place a bit gauge or soft string in the mouth at the point where the bit is supposed to sit
• mark the ends and then measure the distance
• the bit width should be chosen so that the rings sit just outside or slightly beyond the corners of the mouth
• if the bit is too tight, it will cause pressure; if it is too loose, it may shift sideways
• for bits with freely moving rings, there should be about 1 cm of play on one side
• this allows the rings to rotate freely without pinching the lips
