Trust Curbgag JointedTrust's "sweet iron" bits have a mouthpiece made of steel, which has a recognizable blue color. When this special alloy comes into contact with moisture, a kind of surface rust is formed, which tastes sweet and thus naturally stimulates saliva production. For this reason Trust bits are accepted and accepted by almost all horses. Due to this rust development (oxidation) the blue color of the TRUST bit changes to gray to brown. The Sweet Iron bit will form a thin orange-brown layer of rust on the mouthpiece when temporarily not in use. This can be easily removed with a damp cloth. The special feature of this wind-up bridle is the Perlon string, which is threaded through the side of the bit and on the lower ring of which you can attach another rein. This system aims at a strong pressure on the horse's chin when the reins are accepted and should therefore only be used with fine aids. Wind-up bridles are especially suitable for horses that are very strong or for very sensitive horses, as the rider gains maximum control through the double bridle system. This bit also comes with a single broken mouthpiece, which means less pressure on the middle of the tongue than a double broken one. This is in contrast to the increased pressure on the edges of the tongue and slight palatal pressure. Which type of bit is suitable for which horse, however, remains a highly individual decision.
